How are we making an icon of Provence resilient and sustainable? 💜💜 With regenerative agriculture, we’re putting into action what we’ve learnt – that we need to work with nature and not against it, in order to protect the climate, biodiversity and support our farmers. Since 2012, L’OCCITANE has supported Provence’s Lavender Endowment Fund, sponsoring its ‘Green & Lavandes’ program. The fund supports research and development programs and aims to find the best and most ecological solutions. By uniting producers, manufacturers and regional players, we’re working towards three key aims: 💜 To fast-track research into diverse varieties to fight climate change and diseases. In 2021, after nine years of research, two new resilient varieties of white and blue lavender, “Mila” and “Eternelle” were planted over 100 hectares of land. 💜 To support the development of agroforestry and plant covers. 💜 To reduce the impact of activities connected with farming, such as using greener harvesting machines and less energy-consuming distillation equipment. #LOCCITANEenProvence #lavender #regenerativeagriculture #regenerateoursoils

Sometimes, it takes a village... 🏘️ That’s the theme of this years’ UN World Humanitarian Day – that it can take a global village to support those experiencing a crisis. So today, we’re showing our appreciation for the collective endeavour of those who give so much to help others. Since 2013, the L’OCCITANE Foundation has supported the work of Sightsavers in Burkino Faso, as they strive to eliminate onchocerciasis (also known as river blindness) and trachoma in the Cascades region. Both diseases, if left untreated, can cause incredibly painful symptoms and irreversible blindness – but thankfully, our decade long partnership has resulted in more than 674,000 people receiving expert sight-saving care. Our sight is precious, and we’re proud to support such an incredible team of people, who go above and beyond to protect others from harm.
