The concept of empowerment which is the ultimate step towards a satisfied and engaged team is a result of a lot of background work. Empowerment requires extremely well thought systems, a lot of training and clarity on job description and company goal and the role each member plays in achieving that goal. Without these guard rails empowerment actually results in abdication and can harm the organization. Everyone like to achieve and win - those micro goals need to be defined and celebrated then empowerment results in engaged and satisfied teams.

The second step to improving team engagement and satisfaction is to align your team with the organization's vision, mission, and values. You can do this by communicating clearly and frequently the purpose, direction, and objectives of your team and how they contribute to the bigger picture. You can also involve your team in setting and reviewing goals, measuring progress, and celebrating achievements.
