Machine learning, ML, is a subfield of artificial intelligence, AI, that aims to provide systems, the ability to learn, adapt, and improve their performance from data without being explicitly programmed. It's centered around the idea that machines can utilize patterns and inference rather than relying solely on explicit instruction. The primary goal of machine learning is to create models that can analyze complex patterns, make predictions, or make decisions based on input data. These models are trained using an algorithm, a set of statistical processing steps which learns from data to create patterns. These algorithms can be supervised; learn from labeled data, unsupervised; learn from unlabeled data, semi-supervised or reinforcement; learn by interacting with the environment.
